A 10 point summary of the Gospel as it is in the Bible

Please read this very carefully with your bible:

This is the summary of the gospel in 10 points that you have to believe before baptism. All of the teaching here is drawn directly from the Bible and all quotation in this page from the New International Version.

May God bless you as you read and give you a heart that will be convinced and ready to receive His word and believe in His son, our lord Jesus Christ, amen.

  1. God exists.

He is all powerful and he is not Trinity but one and only true God. Also there is no power, person or spirit that is His equal or not under His control. He is Almighty.

“5 I am the LORD (YHWH), and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
6 so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other.
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.”
Isaiah 45:5-7
  1. The Bible is the Inspired Word of God. 15 and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
    2 Timothy 3:15,16
  2. The Holy spirit of God is the power of God and not a separate person from God.

The Holy spirit dwells in us when we believe and are baptised.

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;“
1 Corinthians 6:19
  1. Jesus is the son of God.

Through his sacrificial death FOR our sins, his resurrection and ascension to heaven, anyone who believes in him will be saved from sin and death by the GRACE of God and have direct access to God. Jesus is not coequal with God as Trinity theory suggests. Jesus is in heaven but he will come again.

“8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place

and gave him the name that is above every name,

10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,

in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:8-11
  1. On Sin and Death: We have a mortal nature (known as the flesh) that can sin and die.

We are saved from this in Jesus Christ. There is nothing in man that continues to live as a person after death.

“1Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh”
Romans 8:1-3
  1. Resurrection of the dead in Christ:

This is the only hope of life for any one in Christ who has fallen asleep or is dead. If you believe the gospel, baptized and when you fall asleep or die, Jesus will raise you up at the last day when he come again!

“ 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.”
1Corinthians 15:20-22
  1. The coming Kingdom of God on earth :

In the coming Kingdom of God which will be established here on earth (not in heaven), Jesus will be the king of that new world order in Jerusalem in Israel to every corner of the earth. Jesus will reign with the saints.

2 In the last days

3 Many peoples will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion,
the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
4 He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.
Isaiah 2:2-4
  1. Baptism and Its significance

Total Immersion of anyone who believe the gospel is the teaching of the Bible. In symbol, it shows that this person has crucified his sinful ways, died and rose again to become a new creature in Christ.

“3 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.”
Romans 6:3,4
  1. Holiness

The believer must strive to live a sin free life that is holy and pleasing to God and not to our lustful flesh.

“9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
  1. Assembly of the Saints

It is very necessary that the new believer have fellowship with saints of like mind and faith.

“23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
Hebrews 10:23-25.
