Letter to the churches in Ephesus and Smyrna
Revelation 2:1-7 EPHESUS: Jesus as He who holds the seven stars in his right hand, who walks among the seven golden lampstands.
This is a very important part of who Jesus is now because here Jesus, though in heaven is revealed in his church on earth. The symbols of 7 stars and 7 golden lampstands all pertain to the true Church of Jesus Christ on earth as we shall see. Since Jesus is present in his church or ecclesia, we ought to see the true ecclesia as a spiritual manifestation of God’s kingdom on earth! Those who belong to the church must see themselves as new creations living the kingdom life as if they are already glorified and sinless! It is only those who realized this or who are conscious of this awakening in them, that is who walk by the spirit and not by the former lusts of the flesh, that will be permitted to live forever in the coming physical and literal kingdom of God on earth from Jerusalem!
