John 14:1-3 Explained

Will the kingdom of God be established on earth or in heaven? Answer: on earth 🌍 at the second coming of Jesus Christ. He asked us to pray for the kingdom to come and for God’s will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. This teaching is reechoed throughout the scriptures and by the prophets. This was also believed by early Church fathers.

Those who believe they will go to heaven misinterpret just about two passages of the scripture (out of the thousands that say otherwise) and I’ll show you the first one: JOHN 14.

John 14: Here, John wrote that Jesus would go to his Father’s house to PREPARE many mansions for the saints. John also said Jesus would come back to be with the saints. Does this mean that before Jesus went to heaven, there were many UNPREPARED mansions in heaven? Is heaven really a place of mansions for the saints? Why unprepared?

Answer: Jesus revealed to the same John that once this place is prepared, it will be sent DOWN FROM HEAVEN to earth to be with men and not for men to go up and take it. See my emphasis on PREPARED:

“2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, PREPARED as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
Rev 21:2-5 KJV

This is inline with the rest of the scriptures that the present Jerusalem in Israel will be glorified when Jesus comes again to reign and spiritually, the saints (the bride) will be immortalised by God at that time.

Paul went further to explain in his own language what this heavenly building mean:

“1 For we know that if our earthly house, the tent we live in, is dismantled, we have a building from God, a house not built by human hands, that is eternal in the heavens.

2 For in this earthly house we groan, because we desire to put on our heavenly dwelling,

3 if indeed, after we have put on our heavenly house, we will not be found naked.

4 For we groan while we are in this tent, since we are weighed down, because we do not want to be unclothed, but clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life.”
2Cor 5:1-4

Paul the apostle explains that this is not a literal building/house/tent in heaven but an imagery of the eternal life or immortality Jesus promised to his bride – a change of nature that will put an end to death and sorrows in the kingdom of God to be established on earth. This is why John saw in the vision and wrote that God’s tabernacle is now with men (on earth) and their will be no more sorrows and death. Amen 🙏🏽
