Daniel was very privileged to see in a vision the events of his day up to the very end. The number 2,300 evenings and mornings or 2,300 days was earlier revealed to him in Daniel 8:14.

Daniel was specifically shown a wicked little horn that invaded Jerusalem, stopped the daily burnt offerings and also set up his own abomination in the temple like the Romans and Arabs would later do also.
The angel told him that from the days of this little horn till the time the temple is restored will be a long time of 2,300 days! Take time and read the text below from Daniel 8:
“8 Then the goat became exceedingly great, but when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and instead of it there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.9 Out of one of them came a little horn, which grew exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the glorious land. 10 It grew great, even to the host of heaven. And some of the host and some of the stars it threw down to the ground and trampled on them. 11 It became great, even as great as the Prince of the host. And the regular burnt offering was taken away from him, and the place of his sanctuary was overthrown. 12 And a host will be given over to it together with the regular burnt offering because of transgression, and it will throw truth to the ground, and it will act and prosper. 13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?” 14 And he said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.””
The Goat here is clearly the Grecian empire and the great horn answers to Alexander the great. Since the wicked little horn directly came out of the 4 conspicuous horns after the death of Alexander the Great, we can be sure that the little horn here is Antiochus IV Epiphanes. This wicked man invaded Jerusalem and desacralized the temple in 168 BC. Daniel was shown that the temple would be restored or made right or cleansed after 2,300 days from 168BC. This is the longest period of time ever shown to Daniel. Using a day for a year principle:
2300 – 168BC =2132 AD
The temple will only be restored to its rightful state in the messianic age. The second temple which Herod expanded had no Ark of the covenant which is the most sacred object in the temple. Even those who saw its foundation knew immediately that it was not the Temple. Ezra 3:12.
1335 days may answer to the time of the second coming/resurrection of Daniel and all the saints, or Armageddon or a very significant event that will happen in Jerusalem, but the 2,300 is the grand consummation of things. It is the period of the 3rd Temple of Isaiah 2 and Ezekiel 40ff. This will occur long after the resurrection and judgement of the saints. It will be after the enemies of Israel and the church has been destroyed and so the gap between 2027 and 2132 is appropriate.
He who will come will surely come and not tarry any longer. He has tarried for nearly 2,000 years. It looks like he forgot his bride. But reading the apocalypse of Daniel and John reveal that he will be absent for over a thousand years. This has given a lot of encouragement and hope to many saints who understood this over the ages. Sir Isaac Newton who lived in the 17th and 18th century for example never bordered to see the messiah in his time. He slept peacefully after suggesting that the time is 2060. No one including myself know the exact time or year. Even my calculations may have + or – up to 4 years error. Like as I have pointed out, the Almighty in His wisdom may decide to further lengthen or shorten the days. It can also be possible that my interpretation is wrong since I am not inspired like the writers of the Bible were. But so far, I believe I have the right interpretation by the grace of God.
Watch Israel!
If this time is true, then it means in 2017, we entered the very last decade of the 2,000-year Church age without even realizing it!!! But then after seeing this, on a closer look, it appears that the Lord is indeed now ready to take over the affairs of men. The angels actually seem to have commenced a new series of work with this world because in the beginning of this decade (2017), which is special if the time of the end is 2027, the world witnessed very special event with respect to Israel:
- United States recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel! This is nothing but divine as more countries recognized Jerusalem after the USA historic recognition. Indeed, the fig tree is blossoming in our time.
Other events are all happening very fast too without many of us also realizing it: - 2019 till date Global pandemic and lockdown which is historic!
- Global vaccination and heightened expectation in Christendom of the appearance of a ‘false messiah’ in Jerusalem who will bring peace to the world. Ironically, this antichrist most likely will turn out to be the real Yeshua!
- 2020, Israel suddenly signed Abraham accords – normalization agreement with UAE, Bahrain, Sudan, Morocco… This is very historic and clearly the angels are at work to really blossom the fig tree and bring a temporal peace and security.
- Temple Institute in Israel construction of the real objects for the 3rd temple, tensions in the Temple Mount and heightened expectation of the appearance of the Messiah among the Jews.
- Increase in space exploration and inauguration of commercial space exploration for all mankind. Will the angels really watch us colonize another world? Will not God act like in the days of Babel?
- The United States and NATO presence in Middle East is rapidly shrinking.
- Rise of China and decline of US economic and political power.
- The Islamic State and her affiliates are growing stronger in the Levant and all around the world.
Since I wrote this in August 2021, a lot more significant fulfilment of Bible prophecies has occurred. Everything is happening very fast. We have the following significant events:
- Fall of USA and NATO troops in Afghanistan in August 2021. This significant event has sent signals to the world that the Western powers are declining especially in the Middle East.
- Russian alliance with China and Iran
- Russian presence in the Middle East especially Syria which is the North of Israel
- Russian threat to invade Ukraine and or possible start a world war if her terms are not met. (Now Russian invasion of Ukraine and a possible break out of a world war).
- Iran nuclear deal and Iran’s possibility of getting a nuclear weapon which is a direct threat to the existence of Israel as a state.
- Russian presence in West Africa by sponsoring military coups in Mali and very likely Burkina Faso.
- WHO chief warning of a deadlier variant of COVID 19
The decline of the Western power in the Middle East and the Armageddon
You may be wondering how the decline of the Western powers in the Middle East especially points to the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s no longer news that the US forces and NATO’s presence in the Middle East has drastically declined while Russian presence is increasing. I will explain to you why it matters and show you that the Bible predicted these things many years ago.
The day of the LORD: Armageddon
The prophets of Israel warned us of a war, a world war that will be fought in the soil of Israel. This day is called the day of the Lord and it is this world war that will bring Jesus Christ to destroy the enemies of Israel and also establish the kingdom of God on earth from Jerusalem in Israel to the ends of the earth. Read this prophecy of Zechariah before we continue:
“1 Behold, a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst.
2 For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations as when he fights on a day of battle.
4 On that day his feet shall stand on the Mount of Olives that lies before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall be split in two from east to west by a very wide valley, so that one half of the Mount shall move northward, and the other half southward.
5 And you shall flee to the valley of my mountains, for the valley of the mountains shall reach to Azal. And you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Then the LORD my God will come, and all the holy ones with him.
6 On that day there shall be no light, cold, or frost.
7 And there shall be a unique day, which is known to the LORD, neither day nor night, but at evening time there shall be light.
8 On that day living waters shall flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea and half of them to the western sea. It shall continue in summer as in winter.
9 And the LORD will be king over all the earth. On that day the LORD will be one and his name one.” Zechariah 14:1-9. Find the same prophecy in Joel 3.
I can break down the events that will lead to the return of the Lord into the following:
- All nations gather to fight Israel vs 1,2
- They invade Jerusalem and defeat Israel vs 3-7
- The LORD miraculously appears on mount Olives to fight for Israel and destroy her enemies
- Then the reign or kingdom of God will be established on the subdued earth from Jerusalem to the whole world. Vs 8 till end of chapter.
The point is that soon and very soon, nations of the world will unite against Israel. The major ally of Israel in the world is the United States and her allies and partners. For nations to successfully invade Israel in the future, it must mean that the power and influence of the United States especially in Middle East must decline. We have indications from the scriptures that this will be the case.
Like a Thief in the night. He will come anytime soon
Most of the prophecies both from our Lord himself (Matthew 24:43-44) to that of Peter (2 Peter 3:10) and also Paul (1Thess 5:2-11) explicitly stated that the Lord will come as a thief in the night.
“2 For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. 3 While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” 1Thess 5:2-11.
Our Lord will come when many least expect him. When the fig tree (Israel) blossoms, a time of peace and security. My understanding of some other Bible passages is that before he comes, there will be great chaos everywhere in the world. But we must harmonize this with the very fact that the last days will also be ‘as it was in the days of Noah.’ We do not party and drink in a time of war. But in time of peace and prosperity. The type of prosperity that may blind us from seeing the other signs.
However, the concluding verse clearly states that those who watch will not be surprised at his arrival. it’s possible to know the time! Remember that the first century Christians watched and God sent his angel around 66AD, clearly informing Simeon to take all Nazarenes (Christians) out of Jerusalem to Pella before the 70AD destruction according to the records.
4But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. 5 For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. 6 So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. 7For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night.
8But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.
9For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him.
11Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Wake up!
Jesus is indeed coming soon. Repent, be baptized and keep yourself holy from henceforth.
Dear brothers and sisters, this is a wake-up call. When prophet Daniel realized from the scriptures that the 70 years was over, he prayed to God for the forgiveness of his sins and that of Israel. Read the prayer here Daniel 9:3-19. We must make such prayers for ourselves and for the Church irrespective of denomination. Our attention and zeal must focus now on the things of God, for he who will come, will not delay any longer.
Even if we are not sure of the exact time of the end, let’s recall that its already over 70 years and over 50 years since Israel took over the land (1948) and the holy city Jerusalem (1967). 1948 formally marks the year God started reversing the fortunes of Israel. He won’t stop until the deliverer comes out of Zion to save His people. The generation that saw Israel blossom will not die out completely before the end … It means God sent His angel to perform these end time miracles right before our eyes. God of Israel is indeed awake and ever living!
If Yeshua comes today, it will not be considered early since it is almost 2,000 years, he promised us to come ‘soon’. Almost 2,000 years since angels physically came to this earth like in the days of the prophets, Maccabees and apostles. Prophet Habakkuk cried to the LORD for His physical intervention on the affairs of Israel. God’s response to him, as in LXX and quoted in Hebrews is even most relevant today: “he who is coming will come and not delay!”
“37 “For, “Yet a little while,
and the coming one will come and will not delay;
38 but my righteous one shall live by faith,
and if he shrinks back,
my soul has no pleasure in him.”
39 But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.”” Hebrews 10:37-39.
Watch and pray! Luke 21:36.
“10:4 Above all, we thank thee that Thou art able to save; to Thee be the glory forever.
10:5 Remember, Lord, thy Ecclesia, to redeem her from every evil, and to perfect her in thy love, and gather her together from the four winds, even that which has been sanctified for thy kingdom which thou hast prepared for her; for thine is the kingdom and the glory forever.
10:6 Let grace come, and let this world pass away. Hosanna to the Son of David. If anyone is holy let him come; if anyone is not, let him repent. Maranatha. Amen.” – Didache.
